I've always been devoted to womanly causes and encouraging women empowerment. I find it important to remember the paths taken and the sacrifices made by countless brave women that have given us what we have today. So I started this site--- my intention being to acknowledge the strife of our mothers, grandmothers, great-grand, their mothers (so forth and so on) and their warpath. This blog focuses on the women behind the war---that is, the American Revolution and the Civil War (and anytime in between). The focus being the changes in roles women experienced during wartime and how they used war to manipulate the roles 'ordained' for them. The site also incorporates the war waged on women, the barricades and obstacles they experienced and the victories they managed to grab anyhow.

 

In the future, I plan for this blog to eventually extend beyond the historical element and become a place for the women of today to discuss our fight for "remembering the ladies too". We are also here to decide our own roles in society separate from our relationship to men. We are not just wife, mother or daughter. We are whatever we want to be. We define our own roles. We have our own voices. We write our own stories and sometimes we have to fight our own war!
